Birthday block

Hiya all,

As the end of February looms, (how crazy fast has it gone?) then it means March is just around the corner and in our family March means birthdays, not just 1 or 2 but LOADS!

This March we have:-

5th - My moms 60th
6th - My sister in laws
12th - Gazs Nans
13th- My nieces 16th
16th - Gazs 23rd Birthday
18th - Mothers day and my parents 40yr anniversary
22nd - Harry's 2nd Birthday

As you can see a very busy month, and VERY expensive too!

Normally I'm on the ball knowing what i want to get each person, getting little personalised pressies and having loads of good ideas, but this year I've got a birthday block, i have no idea what to get anyone at all.

My moms 60th birthday is a huge milestone, i would like something really special, my sister is taking her on holiday to the isle of white as her birthday present, how can i top that? Well i cant really, but i have to give it a go. I'm thinking of throwing a little surprise house party with just immediate family all planed for when she finishes work, but i still need a present. i have this afternoon stumbled across the idea of getting my mom a personalised gift from Eternal Impressions they look amazing.

My nieces 16th is also a big milestone, what do you get a 16yr old, feel like forever since i was 16.

My parents anniversary and mothers day on the same day, great double trouble!! We are going to see Birds of a feather at the theatre on march 24th me my mom and dad, so that's something, but they brought there own tickets and i brought mine so not exactly a present from me really.

And finally and most importantly my lovely little mans 2nd birthday. (sob, the time has flown) what do you get the boy who literally has everything, OK maybe a little exaggeration but he does have alot of things. I don't really want to buy more toys, were taking him to the zoo the day after his birthday but he still needs a gift.

My question to you lovely readers is, please help me, what should i buy?!
If you have any ideas at all let me know, any good sites you think i might see something on send me the link, i need all the help i can get.

Ooo and on a random note, anyone got a really good recipe for a lemon cake? i love lemon, and have a few left over from pancake day so thought i might give one a go at the weekend :)

Love Lucy x

  1. I'm not the best person at picking out gifts, but for your son I would say maybe something for outdoors seems as the weather should hopefully get better soon, doesn;t have to be a big present I'm sure he will love going to the zoo and being enter of everyones attention, maybe a bubble blower for the garden? or a something? as for your mums 60th what about a digital camera if she hasn't already got one to take lots of lovely photos on her holiday with your sister? if she already has one then what about a vouher for a photobook from somewhere like photobox? hope you find something for everyone (oh and march 8th is my mums birthday and her and dads anniversary and mothers day just after!!)

  2. Mum- does she have a digital photoframe? if not what about one of those and uploading Harry/family pics onto it before hand. Or a hair dressing/spa/day out voucher. Or even a home made voucher to promise to do a certain job your mum usually does eg a mums day off with choccies while you do housework etc (you probably do all that anyhow but just racking my brains lol)
Or a home made gift box/hamper. Get a wicker basket and add little bits such as smelly soaps/choccies/nice pen and puzzle book, Harry photoframe/ cuddly toy/ posh Jams/ etc etc or whatever she is into in it. Wrap it in cellophane and a big bow?

Harry- What about a sand pit? water table? mini trampoline? ours have a mini trampoline with handle from argos and they loved it. Or a slide, swing etc?

Neice- Does she like jewellery if so what about a silver charm bracellet and then buy charms for it for other birthdays, Christmas etc?

Sorry can't think what else, i find Birthdays a right job trying to think lol!
