Hiya all,
Something that really riles me - celeb mums, not the fact they have children and are famous, that's fine. Who am I to say who can and can't have children. Its the fact that get paraded all across the papers as amazing role model mums, and look how good were looking 1 weeks after birth!
Well bloody good on you, how did you find the packed hospital wards then?
Oh that's right you had a private hospital with a team of midwives feeding you grapes
How did you snap back into that bikini body so quick? I can bearly raise the energy to move from the sofa most days.
Oh yh that's right, you have a personal trainer to get you there and a personal chef to prepare your meals!
How you dealing with the sleepless nights, there terrible ain't they?
Oh yes, I forgot you have a team of in house nannies to look after your child, while your catching up on sleep, or not so much as your out getting papped at clubs
Now I no some may think, well they have to maintain there career and would you if you had there money? but no, i honestly wouldn't!
My argument is, 'normal' mothers who have to go back to work after 1yr, if there lucky, else they won't be able to pay the bills, have no roof over there heads and no food on the tables, I can totally understand the need to get back to work, but when these big celebs have millions in the bank, then why do they feel the need to go out straight away, if I had the money I would say that's enough, I've got 10million+ in the bank I don't need to do any more gigs for now, this money will last me a few years, I'll stay at home and enjoy my child.
Surely there missing out on quality time with there little ones?
Beyonce is my main issue, I don't no if my dislike of her comes from the fact that my niece likes her so much (were like chalk and cheese, if she likes something, I'd do my best to dislike it) I don't no, she just annoys me! Sorry Beyonce lovers, I no there's a few out there, she's just not my favourite person.
But the recent story is about her losing 60lb (4 stone 2lb) after the birth of her daughter back in January, well how does she and the papers think this statement will make other new mums feel who are struggling to keep awake through the day let alone think about losing weight.
Maybe its not the celebs as such, but the medias obsession with them and the celeb mags, and the way there portrayed as amazing role models.
I'd rather stick with my role model, my mom, who's raised 3 kids and held down a job, house and is generally amazing!
OK rant over! normal service will resume shortly :)
What do you think of the celeb mums as role models?
Lucy x

I think most of the time with weight they never really put any on, I didn't really and was lucky to be in per preg jeans al I had was The water weight to lose now it's different lol just chip fat haha!
ReplyDeleteSo when the media asks them these questions or just writes for a lot people there was sod all weight to loose!
Women really to support each other more and stop judging their bodies on the likes of bloody beyonce and myleen klass (vomits) and just treat themselves with a bit more love!
Also though notice in gossip mags that they'll slate you for being skinny overweight or jut porky...? Can't win!!? X
i hardly put any one either, i was 'all baby' as they say, and i hardly had any water too. so i was very lucky :) but i dont no what it is, beyonce bloody riles me up lol x so true, really cant win either way. maybe i should of just itled this post 'why i dislike beyonce' lol x
DeleteRant away! I have similar views. One of my friends recently asked me if I won the lottery wouldn't I just get a nanny for Holly (as a rich celeb would). I was horrified. I didn't have a baby so someone else could look after her. I want to be there for all the milestones, I want to see her and HELP her grow and develop not out working or partying.
ReplyDeleteI often look at the way some celeb parents parade around with their kids all kitted out in designer gear (on the rare occasions they have the kids) and feel as if they treat a child as their latest fashion accessory. Almost as if they have got everything money can buy, so what is next on the list? Oh yes, a baby! Now I'm not saying all celebrities are like this at all, but a lot seem to be! I'm all for having a career but the amount of time some spend away from their kids is just unbelievable. I don't know about you but I get terrible guilt about being away from my child for even a little while! There...that is my rant over!
yay love a good rant, couldnt agree more, when you have enough money (as beyonce has)so you dont have to work at all, why would you openly choose to have others look after your children? its hard enough for monthers and fathers who have to go to work to earn a living that they have to put there children in nursarys while they do so, im sure they would jump at the chance to not work and soley look after there children x so true, its like VB shes another one i dislike! it seemed she uses her little girl as a fashion item the way she carrys her around like a handbag! and she NEVER smiles, which bloody grates me too x x
DeleteI kind of feel sorry for them that they feel they have to be superthin right away etc. If they weren't they would be slated for it and it must be awful to have the whole country/world slating you for your size.
ReplyDeleteSome celeb mums do annoy me, on my hit list at the minute is Una Healy! I think Lily Allen seems to be a good role model, shes pretty much dissapeared out of the spotlight and i don't think i've ever seen a photo of her baby.
Its not really the weight loss, its down tot hem really, i have the biggest issue with, the whole going out soon after birth when they have a newborn at home gives me bigger problems with them x i agree Una is very annoying, the way she didnt want her bump shown in the video, like she was ashamed or something? very odd. I love lily Allen, think shes fab, shes well and truely disappeared of the radar to look after her daughter which i think is fab :) x
DeleteIt depends on the actual celebrity- some seem like really good Mum's who take time out to be with their children. I like Miranda Kerr (supermodel) as she takes baby Flynn everywhere with her, breastfed instead of dumping him on the powder in case her boobs went saggy and she couldn't model for lingerie anymore, and is always holding him and cuddling him instead of just dumping him onto Nanny after Nanny. I did think she lost her weight too quickly though! I also like Lily Allen as she refused to give out her baby's name for months after her birth which I think is great, it shows that even though they're celebs, they're family life is private and nothing to do with us! also she hasn't exploited her baby to paps and "fans"! I hate Una Healy as it seems she went back to work straightaway, with a stick thin body and just dumped baby Aiofe on someone else. I don't mind Victoria Beckham yes she's uber skinny and yes she's a workaholic but she is always with her children and she doesn't sell photo's of them to tabloids left right and center, plus she's giving her children a really good work ethic, she breastfed and does the late nights instead of a Nanny doing it, and still spends time with her children!
ReplyDeletei agree, i dont mean to generalise all celeb mums at all, i love lily allen, i love the fact that she went from the spotlight when she had her daugheter and that she refuses to parade her round like a fashion item, her mom let slip on fb a few moths back that her daughters called ethal mary :) x i cant say im a fav of VB though, she annoys me, she should be the happiest women in the world but her face is just so ice cold it annoys me. I like how holly willoghby has never brought her son into the spotlight either (and her daugher now too) she has said in the past she wants to keep them private until there old enough to choose to be on tv or magazines there selves which i think is lovely :) and she took time off form this morning and her work to look after both her children :) x
DeleteSee I read an interview with VB earlier this week saying she knows she looks miserable but she is actually extremely happy- I think i'd look miserable too if I had paps following my every move, every turn my relationship takes, every development in my baby's life... and I have actually seen her smile a few times, esp. with David, you can tell they're still in love! and yes I love Holly, she's a lovely Mum and was in no rush to lose the weight :) x
DeleteWell... They don't bother me too much really, but I'm not really into celeb gossip in the slightest, don't read the mags or newsrags so I don't see as much of it. Phew! I do agree though, stick with a real role model in your own life. Your mum sounds fantastic :) xx
ReplyDeleteaww thank you, she really is a star :)shes definatly and always will be my role model x
