our weekend - christmas is coming

Hiya all,

This weekend Gareth was working all day Saturday again, getting in lots of over time for us bless him. So we didn't have anything planned to do or go anywhere, but then my sister asked if we could have my niece in the daytime on Saturday while she went Christmas shopping, so of course we said yes.

Evie came around, we went food shopping with my mom, we picked up some cake ingredients as we had promised  them we could do some baking when we got home. Harry loves baking, doing the mixing, the rolling and of course licking the spoon at the end :)

Sunday we didnt have any plans either, Gareth got Harry playing the ps3 racing games and it was so lovely watching them together, i then broke out good old singstar and tried to get harry to sing with me, he ran away crying! Says alot about my singing skills really.

We had our roast dinner, then off to my sisters house in the afternoon, they were getting ready to put there Christmas decs up and had brought harry a 'grow your own tree'. When we came home, we set up the tree.

This morning when we came down the tree had done this over night:-

I think its a great little idea for kids to do. We will be putting our decorations up this weekend, once there down from the loft.

Today we went to the big wear house near us and Harry picked out a decoration, he went for this lovely reindeer which he carried all the way around with him.

We also go this letter writing set which was a bargain at 79p, its got paper for a letter to Santa and a letter from Santa, with envelopes and a pencil too. Gareth's been talking about writing a letter with Harry all weekend so they should be doing this one night this week, and Gareth's going to send him a reply back too. Im so glad Gareth's excited for Christmas this year, hes known as a Christmas hater (his own words) but this year he seems so much more excited.

Coming home we took some pictures of Harry in his Santa suit, that his auntie Ellen brought him, for our Christmas cards. This year i decided that with my huge family, and Gareth's too, it costs a fortune in Christmas cards as we have to buy special ones with there titles on 'nan & grandad' etc and with cards costing £1 plus each for decent ones, it was cheaper to have our own printed in bulk for everyone. i managed to get 20 personaslised ones for just over £4 from snapfish (with a discount code XMASBST) delivery is on top but still worked out way cheaper for us.

Harry's also been watching Christmas DVDs today, starting with his favourite fireman Sam, i ordered a Christmas special from amazon for a couple of pound and we have a peppa pig one arriving any day soon. But what I'm most excited about is a children's nativity book I've ordered. I cant wait to read the story of Christmas to him and let him understand the true Christmas, and what its all about. These didn't cost me a penny though as I've been getting amazon vouchers from all the swagbucks ive collected. By doing surveys, watching adverts and playing games (all free!) you collect swagbucks and I've been doing it for 3weeks now and cashed out £25 worth of amazon vouchers through collecting swagbucks, you can even get them from shopping, for example by shopping from Argos through swagbucks you get 2 points per pound or M&S you get 3points per pound. Its worth a look, i would really recommend it.

Last week we made salt dough decorations, but i didn't bake them, left them to air dry and there still drying!! So as soon as there dry and we have painted them il do a post about them.

So that's a round up of our weekend and today.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are getting into the Christmas spirit! (or the mulled wine if your my mother!!)

Love Lucy x
