Hiya all,
I am NOT perfect - neither is my son!
There I said it! So shoot me!
There seems to be a lot of pressure and competition coming from some parts of the blogging/twitter/forum world to see who is more 'perfect' - truth is NONE OF US!
Never a truer statement than 'no one is perfect'. What matters if we are doing our best for our children and for filling there needs. I am going to throw it out there and say I am.

I do the very best i can for Harry, he's my world after all.
But neither of us are perfect, don't get me wrong here, I am by no means saying my sons bad, far from it. But does he sometimes have melt downs when were shopping - yep! Does he sometimes refuse to get dressed - yep! Does he, most of the time, refuse to eat? - Yep.

I'm not afraid to tell you either, that's what makes him, him!
He's the most amazing boy in the world in my eyes, but I'm sure the lovely couple behind us when shopping, hearing the meltdown would think otherwise.
Neither am I saying I'm a bad mother, but do we do amazing new activity's every day? - Nope, not every day. Do we sometimes spend whole days in PJ's - Yep! And do I always make meals from scratch with 100% fresh ingredients? - nope not every day! Do I feel a 'failure' or 'guilty' for this? -Hell no!! Is my boy always put 1st,his needs met and does he get 100% of me? Hell yes!!
Do i ensure that he has a safe secure loving environment to grow up in?
YES!
And that's all that matters to me. Couldn't care less what others want to think/judge!
I parent my way, with no pressure from anyone.
Some may want to make things seem perfect but truth be known its not, there's something crazy going on in everyones lives, i just choose to share my life, warts and all, as they say. We could all sensor and just show the lovely side of our children, our parenting and life, but I like to think my blog is open, honest and true to my life, its MY blog after all.
I love reading all different blogs, ones i enjoy most are the open honest type, real true to life.
I don't want people thinking 'what a perfect life she has' because that wouldn't be true, its not, I like my blog to be an extension of me, Lucy, scars, spots, fancy dress and all!
I am a parent to the best of my ability, my sons a 2yr old to the best of his ability.

And I'm bloody proud of him for it.
Remember:- no body's perfect, and no body has to be, where would the fun be in that?
Love Lucy x

Pretty much agree with every word!
ReplyDeleteNot perfect here either! Except I do feel guilty that I'm not a perfect mum who makes organic meals, never relies on cbeebies etc..! :( x
ReplyDeleteVery very well said Luce! Noone's perfect, and we shouldn't judge each other for it! You're a fantastic Mum to Harry, and he loves you, that's what matters! Xxx
ReplyDeletetell me about it. I wouldn't know what the perfect mum looks like if she was right in front of me.
ReplyDeleteso true hun, every single word! you know what? being a mum is bloody hard enough without people claiming to be perfect parents and putting uber amounts of unrealistic pressure on us! You're doing amazing, Harry is gorgeous :) xx
ReplyDeleteperfection is in the eyes of a child and kids dont see flaws!
ReplyDeleteThat's my theory anyway x x
Couldn't agree more, if cooking from scratch and your kid never having a tantrum was perfect I'd be way over in the far from perfect corner!x
