Hope you have all had an amazing Christmas and are enjoying lots of fun family time. We had a brilliant time, sadly Gareth is back at work today :( so i thought i would share with you our Christmas time, starting with Christmas Eve.
This Christmas Eve Gareth was working. So when he finished work i picked him up right away to head home to let the fun begin.
Its a tradition in our house to have pork & stuffing sandwich's on xmas eve, this year i didnt fancy any but Gareth made short work of these beauty's.
Another tradition of ours is having our presents (mine and gareths) christmas eve, it stems from when we were younger and spending christmas day with our own familys. our christmas was always christmas eve.
We always lay them out for each other and have our cards then too.
Yes thats a one direction CD dont judge me lol.
(bit of a running joke with Gareth!)
I got some lovely things from my garethy, he knows me well. Hes also buying me a chest of draws from ikea, how rock and roll are we? but we will get them next week when everythings a bit less manic
We then got harry ready for a bath, and into his Christmas eve pjs. Yet again, another tradition that my family have done ever since i can remember. I didnt get any this year - Sad times!
As Harry is now old enough to understand about father christmas and his coming christmas eve with presents etc, we thought it would be nice if we got him a little something christmas eve, a book with father christmas in it and a santa key as we dont have a chimney (well we do but its blocked up at the bottom.
It was then ready for Harrys bedtime, but not before laying out some snacks for Father Christmas and the reindeer's. Traditional, home made mince pie, carrot and milk all ready for him.
Once the little man was in bed, me and gareth set to placing out all his presents. I forgot how much we had actually brought. My mom&dad had brought him a leather arm chair and footstool so Gareth put the legs on it ready for Harry to get up and see it the next day.
These were just from me and gareth and a couple from his friends, he doesnt have his presents from gareths side of the family until boxing day. My family brought there presents to him on Christmas day. He did very well, im so very grateful to all my lovely friends and family who think the world of him.
When we had finished we sat down watched a bit of tv had a little drink and ate some choccys then off to bed we went, me and gareth both coulnt sleep with excitement, not to see what he had, but to see Harry's face when he realised Father Christmas had been and brought him lots of special presents.
This year its been extra special with Harry knowing more and telling us what he would like for christmas, we could make sure he had everything he could ever wish for, and i so proud of Gareth working all hours god sends to be able to afford to spoil our little man. So rewarding.
Tomorrow il write up our christmas day post with lots more piccys.
Do you have any christmas eve traditions?
Lucy x

I love the idea of giving your presents to each otehr on Christmas Eve, it must be lovely to do it before the madness begins on the day itself.
ReplyDeleteWe did new pj's and book on Christmas Eve for both boys and also the mince pie and carrot, though our Santa had Baileys to drink lol.
