Oh to be a 4yr old

Oh i do wish i was still 4!!

When fetching my niece from school she wasn't happy, so i asked why, the problem was that she had fallen out with her 'best friend ever' called Emmie!

I said why have you fallen out?

She said, because Emmie thought i was going to tell on her for saying a 'naughty word' and i wasn't, i was just going to tell the teacher that you were fetching me from school today.
What was the naughty word might you ask? had this 4 yr old picked up a swear word from an adult? I wondered so i said, tell me what Emmie said that was naughty, in a whispered voiced Evie replied 'she said the dinosaur was FAT'!!
Yep that's right the naughty word was FAT!

Oh how i would love to be 4 again.

Toddlers and wipes...

Hiya all,

What is it with toddlers and wipes??

I've just walked into this,

I'd gone to get the cake out the oven,(I was literally 2mins) came back and he had, very kindly and neatly removed all the wipes from the pack and piled them up!!

When I asked him who had done it his responce 'ohhh no!' He's very good at playing the, 'it wasn't me, how dare someone do that' card! (He's a great actor for near 2)

so glad I no longer buy the expensive wipes, this isn't the 1st time he's done this, he's always been obsessed with them since he's been a baby, pulling them out that is, not having them wipe his mucky face or messy bum!! Typical boy.

Hope your all having a good week, and Hi and a big wave to all my new followers (and the old ones too) I'm so greatful for each and everyone of you, when ever you comment I always try and comment back so thank you :)

Hands up, who loves Justin?

Justin Fletcher, the name alone brings smiles to every child's and properly many a mothers face too, if you have not heard of this man you either don't have a child or don't own a TV, he is practically a god when it comes to the world of children's TV.

His always happy manner, smiling face and love for what he does, makes children everywhere fall in love with his TV programs and adore him, weather it be as himself or his alter ego 'mr tumble'. His work with special needs children is amazing, he uses a type of sign language called 'makaton' which not only involves all children but learns children of all ages too.

Well brilliant news for all the Mommy's and daddy's out there, by popular demand Justin now has a album of classic songs that not only you can sing along to but you would be hard pushed to not tap a foot to this happy jolly album, if your like me and my little dude you will be up, singing and dancing with your TV favourite singing brilliant happy songs.

I decided, to put this album to the ultimate test I would take it to my sisters house for our usual Sunday afternoon get together, there wasn't much convincing for my sister to put the Justin album on, she is, to put it mildly a huge fan. Not only because my niece has loved Justin since 1st seeing him on cbeebies but my sister admires his work with the special needs children, as she herself is a special needs teacher and understands the bond that he has with the children and how passionate he is about his work.

With in second of track one starting 'hands up' there was dancing and huge smiles, this is Justin's own title track for the album, and has the usual up beat Justin fun theme to it. Evie picked up the lyrics pretty quickly and Harry was happy to hear Justin's voice singing so he could dance around to his hearts content, my sister and her hubby had got there feet tapping and big smiles on there faces.
Hands up could easily be a dance track for adults, the beat is really good and catchy words

Onto track 2
The hokey cokey, I held Harry's hands and we danced and I sang loudly like an embarrassing mommy! Harry was all smiles.

Track 3
The musical man, when my nearly 60yr old mom was told it was the music man next, 'oh I love that one' showing this albums not just for the kids! with all the actions you can do, this ones a great get up song.

Other highlights were
Number 7 heads shoulders knees and toes (great for everyone)

Number 14 wheels on the bus (a great one for a sing along in the car)

And number 20 Justin's lullaby, a calm soothing lullaby that's very cute.
Over all this album is a must have for any fan old or young, and anyone who likes a good sing along and boogie, would also be great for a kids birthday party definitely guaranteed to get everyone old or young boogieing on down to Justin.

Justins album can be purchased online at amazon

So, hands up, who loves Justin? Because I no I do :)

* I was sent this album to review but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

memorys...

Hiya all,

Memory boxes, boxes that hold our most precious keep sakes for our little ones, and for us to look back on and think aww that's his 1st hat, his hospital band, things from his 1st birthday, etc.

I'm a hoarder! So these boxes apeal to me, but I think I now have a problem, most people have 2 or 3, harry, age (nearly) 2 has 9!!! 9 boxes filled to the brim with memories. The poor chappy, when he's older he's gonna think why the hell has my mother kept all this

All the boxes have differnt themes,

Birth and pregnancy
All the things he wore in hospital, his hospital band, copys of all his scans and 20mins 4d scan dvd.

Cards and papers
All the cards we got sent for his birth, helium balloons and a paper from the day he was born

Christening
Cards, keep sakes, pictures, christening blanket, christening jewellery from his big day

1st birthday
All his cards, and decorations from his 1st birthday

World cup
His 1st personalised england strip, a paper with his picture in for the world cup, royal mint world cup coin

Days out
Things we collect when we have days out, like leaflets and gift shop trinkets

Stuff from me and gareth for Harry
Like gazs lamb from when he was little, a book that has my published poem in, and all my world record stuff

Letter box
All letters that we have ever had addressed to harry

Odds and ends
Like hand prints and random things that don't go into any other boxes

Tad excessive? Hubby thinks so but every item bring back good memorys, and I've properly kept them for myself more than harry but I'll love to sit and talk him through them when he's older

Do you have memory box or boxes?

Harrys new do

Hiya all,

Since Harry was born he has had a lovely thick head of dark hair, and boy over the last 2yrs, it hasn't stopped growing, getthing thicker and thicker. It grows so fast. It has however lightened since he was born and now he had a lovely mid brown coloured hair.

He has had a few hair cuts since he's been born, and my mom has always done it, because for one, he wouldn't alow anyone else to touch him, and I trust my mom, she's always done my dads and brothers hairs and they always look ok :) yesterday it was time for another one.

We had to wait until he was asleep so my mom could start cutting it so when he had his morning nap, she started, but mid way through he woke up and wouldn't let her finish, resulting in him rocking a mullet for the rest of the afternoon!! Very 80s lol

But finally before bed he let us finish, and now he's sporting a very dapper look :) I like to see boys with a nice hair cut, it makes me cringe when I see little ones under 2 with a shaved heads, I just think it makes them look too old and looks brutal to me, I'd much rather him have a vintage bowl hair do than have a grade one shaved head (Sorry anyone who shaves there under 2s hair, just my personal opinion

How are you little ones with having there hair cut?

12 questions...(with some pictures)

Hiya all,

I was once again tagged by the lovely mumofthreeboys over on her blog (go check her out if you haven't already), to do the 12 questions tag. As I've already done it I thought I should just answer the 12 questions she set for all her tagg'ees so here goes :) x

1. Where was your first holiday?
My 1st holiday was Cornwall (perranporth)with my family, quite a few of us would go down together and stay in apartments, have lots of happy memories, want to go back to there one day just the 3hr drive is putting me off.

2. What is the earliest memory of your childhood you can remember?
Carrying on from question 1, we were on our way back to the apartments from the beach and me and my niece we're ahead, and I managed to walk into the apartment that was next door to ours and panicked and started screaming! Very terrifying being about 3 or 4, my mom was just behind tho, but felt like I was going to be lost forever.

3. What do you like best about being a parent?
Seeing every step of development and feeling proud that your helping them shape into the most amazing little person ever.

4. At what age did you stop studying? And what was it you studied?
I did all my GCSES 11 A* to C grades, and for some unknown silly reason decided to go against all the teachers advise and go to college to study beauty therapy (because my friend was) so I'm qualified in beauty therapy level 2. Wished I had done Alevels tho, but hey ho :)

in my beauty uniform age 16
5. What has been your proudest moment so far in your life?
The day my beautiful son was born. Closely followed by the day I won a Guinness world record :)

6. Describe your blog in 3 words?
Mommy,random,newbie

7. Do you have any phobias and if so, what are they?
Spiders, knives (I can't trust anyone holding a knife not even my mom) and certain textures but won't go into that as everyone will think I'm nuts

8. What does your family think if your blog?
They don't no 'shushh' lol I do it for a bit of therapy for me, I don't think they would understand what I get from writing it. They would just think ay? She's talking to herself.

9. What is your favourite recipe?
Not technically mine but I love doing it, its for a ginger sponge cake mmm :)
(Thanks hairy bikers)

10. Home cooking or restaurant?
Home any day :) I'm not really a restaurant fan, more of a junk food takeaway fan, or all you can eat buffet lol (I'm so very classy)

11. What age was you when you passed your test and how many tries did it take?
I was 20 when I passed my driving test, since trying since I was 17. I had 2yrs with a 'family friend' driving instructor and he was just too friendly and chatty not enough learning, and I failed 4 tests with him. So when I had harry I swapped instructors and he got me passed within 6months. So I passed 5th time :) x

me the day i passed
12. Where is your favourite place to be and why?
At home with my lovely family. My son, hubby, mom and dad :) they make me happy

Hope my answers wernt too boring :)
If anyone wants to do this feel free to feel tagged

Birthday block

Hiya all,

As the end of February looms, (how crazy fast has it gone?) then it means March is just around the corner and in our family March means birthdays, not just 1 or 2 but LOADS!

This March we have:-

5th - My moms 60th
6th - My sister in laws
12th - Gazs Nans
13th- My nieces 16th
16th - Gazs 23rd Birthday
18th - Mothers day and my parents 40yr anniversary
22nd - Harry's 2nd Birthday

As you can see a very busy month, and VERY expensive too!

Normally I'm on the ball knowing what i want to get each person, getting little personalised pressies and having loads of good ideas, but this year I've got a birthday block, i have no idea what to get anyone at all.

My moms 60th birthday is a huge milestone, i would like something really special, my sister is taking her on holiday to the isle of white as her birthday present, how can i top that? Well i cant really, but i have to give it a go. I'm thinking of throwing a little surprise house party with just immediate family all planed for when she finishes work, but i still need a present. i have this afternoon stumbled across the idea of getting my mom a personalised gift from Eternal Impressions they look amazing.

My nieces 16th is also a big milestone, what do you get a 16yr old, feel like forever since i was 16.

My parents anniversary and mothers day on the same day, great double trouble!! We are going to see Birds of a feather at the theatre on march 24th me my mom and dad, so that's something, but they brought there own tickets and i brought mine so not exactly a present from me really.

And finally and most importantly my lovely little mans 2nd birthday. (sob, the time has flown) what do you get the boy who literally has everything, OK maybe a little exaggeration but he does have alot of things. I don't really want to buy more toys, were taking him to the zoo the day after his birthday but he still needs a gift.

My question to you lovely readers is, please help me, what should i buy?!
If you have any ideas at all let me know, any good sites you think i might see something on send me the link, i need all the help i can get.

Ooo and on a random note, anyone got a really good recipe for a lemon cake? i love lemon, and have a few left over from pancake day so thought i might give one a go at the weekend :)

One please

Hiya all,

Today's post is about something that all mummy's (and daddy's) will understand, the question we all get asked, 'when are you having another?'

From Harry being born I was asked, 'are you going to have anymore?' Jesus, he was 1 day old, how am I meant to answer that?

People seem to think its a reasonable question to keep asking and now Harry's nearing 2 it seems the question is more asked than ever!

When I was younger, before I had harry, I thought I wanted 2 children, you no when you imagine your dream family, mom, dad, 2.4 children, dog, white picket fence, yh that. When harry was born, I thought maybe one more when he's of school age, but over the last year or so, something clicked, and I no now that I never want anymore. I no its a bold statement to make but I'm happy with just one baby, he is everything I ever want and more. I like our family of 3, I like the dynamics and how it works. I don't have a longing for a huge family or more babies.

When I see friends babies I think 'aww bless' but it doesn't make me broody, and the idea of having anymore actually makes me feel a little ill if I'm honest.

The statement is thrown up 'yh but you don't want him being lonely' my answer is, he has 5 cousins, 2 who are only 2yrs older than him, a uncle who is one year older, and our friends have babies too, so he's never going to be lonely, or have no one to play with. Myself having a older brother and sister, I was near enough a only child because they had there own lives and I loved it just being me my mom and dad. My mom is from a huge family of 15 siblings, but she rarely sees any of them, even though we all live within a few miles of each other. Hubby is the oldest and has a brother who is 18 who has a 1yr old son, and one on the way, we don't see him, a sister who lives between his mom and dads house and a little brother 3 who we see every few weeks. I don't think having siblings automatically makes you less lonely
.

Me and hubby have decided that we would much rather give harry the best life possible and not stretch ourselves out and be unhappy. As silly as it sounds, I worry I wouldn't love another child like I love harry, so it wouldn't be fair, everyone says 'oh don't be daft' but that's the way my mind sees it.

I wouldn't say my health has necessarily put us off the idea of anymore children, but its something I have to think about, would my heart take another pregnancy? I'm not willing to test it out.

Is it selfish of me to just have one baby? Because that's what I want, should I consider Harry in this?
How many children do you have, or want?

My First Time...

The ever so lovely Chloe over at A Twenty Something Mum has very kindly tagged me in to do this post, and how could i say no? (these tags are very addictive)

Who Was Your First Boyfriend My first boyfriend is my baby's daddy and still my boyfriend, Gareth. We met through a mutual friend when i was 13 and he was 15, (i thought i was so cool with a boyfriend who was older and from another school) he charmed me with his sense of humour and asked me out via text, we had many dates at the cinema and that was it, 8 years on we're still together and have an amazing little boy.

First Person You Kissed The first person i ever kissed was Gareth, behind said cinema, and i was so nervous, he asked for a kiss i said no, then kissed him and some how managed to lick his ear in the process. yh i don't no how i managed that either!

First Job My first job was at a social club on the site of my parents caravan, i used to collect glasses, and work in the shop at the side on weekends and school holidays, i loved it, it gave me so much confidence i was 14 when i started and nearly 17 when i left, and i miss it if I'm honest, met some brill people but things happen for a reason as they say.

First Pay Packet? What did you do with it? I used to buy a new pair of trainers every 2 weeks! that is no exaggeration, i hated PE at school but i loved having new trainers to show everyone (i was also a huge chav) and knowing i had worked for them was even better. I also saved a bit and managed to pay for everything for my prom out of money i had saved.

First CD You remember buying? Craig David, Born to do it. I was obsessed with this man, and was determined that i would one day marry him, however i have yet to do that!

First Holiday Abroad? I went to Disneyland Paris when i was 11, but that was just for a coach trip weekend, my 1st proper holiday abroad was when i was 15 and went to Corfu for the week with my sister in law and her family, i cried all week and wanted to come home because i missed my mom and Gareth.

What Age were you when you moved out of your parents home? I'm still there lol. its too comfy here, Gareth lives here with me and Harry here as well as my Mom and Dad. We all get on fine and there loads of space for us all so its not as tho were all piled in. In a few years when i get a full time job then we will have 2 wages coming in and then we can move out.

So who's next...?

I would like to hear more about...

Becky at TheAdventuresofparenthood
Emily at Neverboardofbubbles

Hiya all,

As you may have read in my other posts my sister lives 10 doors away from me, and every Sunday we go down, me my Mom and Harry and we have tea and cakes (shes an amazing baker heres her website)

Harry loves spending time down there and playing with all the princess toys that my niece has.

Anyway i thought i would show you a quick photo of me my sister and my brother, this is the only photo of us 3 in the recent years, as we never have pictures together

Taken at my sisters wedding, i was 18 here and about 2 months pregnant. My sister had a black and red themed wedding as shes not the whole white wedding type of woman!
I'm extremely proud of both my brother and sister, they have done so well for themselves, and i hope in the future i can be half as good as they are.

I'll cry if I want to...

Hiya all,

Hope everyones enjoying there weekend.
Last night i did something that I havnt done since I was around 18, leave the house on a friday night!!

Shock horror, we had an engagement party, one of gareths work friends, and I was dreading it. Partys and going out is so not my thing, I'd much rather be in bed by 9pm. There's the whole what to wear issue, what to buy, what time to go what time to leave, its all too difficult.

Anyway as a said in a previous post I had brought a pressie online, but it bloody never turned up, so we had to go empty handed, 1st problem of the night.

We got dressed and made sure harry was ok, and then left, my mom had him for us, but he was going to bed just after we left anyway.

We got there and it was all friendly, and everyone was excited to see hubby as they hadn't seen him in a while him being off with his broken foot, the other girls were all in dresses and heels, I went in a blouse and leggings and flats! (I always manage to pick the wrong outfit) There were a lot of inside private jokes, that I had no idea what they were on about. I come to realise hubby is very much the joker of the pack, and they all love him for it.

The disco was really loud so when ever anyone tried to speak to me, I just nodded and smiled, as I haven't a clue what they were saying.

the dreaded time come where everyones up dancing (including hubby on crutches), I was left with a table full of men, because I hadn't had enough to drink to get me dancing (I was driving) and I looked like a heffalump next to the other girls, and also my leggings were so tight that I could bearly move anyway.

All night I just wanted to go home to harry, and I told hubby, but he was enjoying the freedom too much. It was half 11 and I said that we had to leave, which didn't go down well, I ended up walking out not saying bye to anyone, which I appoligise to anyone if you ever see this, I stepped outside and burst into tears, I just wanted to go home, I felt out of place and wanted my little boy. Hubbys work friend came out and thanked me for coming and said he understood that I was missing harry, followed by hubby who looked very annoyed at me, I got in the car still crying, 15mins later hubby joined me and said I had ruined the night and embarresed him by leaving so soon. We argued all the way home and then when we got home, harry was fast asleep. Hubby decided to throw up all over the place (even tho he argued he hadn't drank that much, and I new he had)

I am just so glad I swapped all that for a beautiful baby, give me nappy bags over clutch bags, bottles of milk over bottles of vodka any day!

Is it just me who hates going out these days? I mean I'm 21, all m prtying (underage may add at 16 through to 18) I no most 21yr olds love the whole partying thing, but I can't stand it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Growing up

 Hiya all,

Today is my nieces 17th birthday! (Which makes me feel old sob sob)

sam, emily and me

But something happened today that's broken my heart, my boy is growing up and getting independent.
comfy at my sisters
My niece her mom (my sister) and my little niece came down our house this afternoon, and when they were leaving, they waved bye and harry followed them to the door, so my sister said 'come on then and held his hand' I laughed and thought yer right there's no way he will go without me. But he bloody did! Off he trotted down the road without a second look back. All the way down I kept thinking he's gonna look back now and want me, but nope. My boy is growing too fast, he has never stopped with anyone but my parents ever. So I followed him to my sisters in my car (she lives 10 doors away from our house) I looked through the window and there he was playing away. Not even thinking about mommy, I'll be honest this broke my heart and I wanted to burst into tears. My sister said 'leave him playing he's alright' so I went and did my shopping at asda and it was vile walking round without him in the trolley, was like I'd lost my arm.
I came back and he was playing lovely, he was drinking juice and eating biscuits. I no this day would have to come, but now seems too soon, I just wanted to scoop him up and say come here baby, but he was happy, so I should be happy for him shouldn't I.

My baby is growing up. *Sob Sob*

Anyways happier stuff, Emily's birthday cupcakes :)

Hope everyone is good

12) My car is called MOE

So heres my questions from Medicated Follower of Fashion
1) Where is your favourite place in the world?
VERY borning but my house with my family, im one of those weird people who dislike holidays because i love my house way to much, and get really home sick, i went to corfu for a week when i was 15 and cried like a baby the whole week.

2) If you could give your teen self some advice, what would it be?
Well iI did a post on this a few days ago, 'dear 14yr old self' so that sums it up well :)

3) Where is your favourite place to shop for children's clothes and why?
I love h&m because they are very cute and different designs n they wash nicely too. but gap is a favourite too, along with next and primark, and good old asda

4) What would you do if you won £100,000?
Boring but I  would put a deposit on a house and just live comfy for a few years

5) What cheers you up when you're feeling low?
My boys ofcourse, but on more general front, a large bar of galaxy and big bang theory

6) Who is the most influential person in you life?
My mom, what ever she says is not far wrong. She knows best I've learned over the years, I do love her lots.

7) What would be your dream holiday?
See question one lol. I'm more of a short break kind of girl, we are off to london in may for a couple of days, that being said, an american road trip would be amazing.

 8) What do you love to do the most with your child/ren
I love sleepy cuddles with my little man, nothing better than him going to sleep on my lap. He was never be a cuddley baby, he never wanted much love (which is upsetting) but now he's getting older he loves cuddles and kisses (well most of the time)

9) Why did you start blogging?
I wanted a platform for me to rant and chat on, a sort of therapy, and mainly to record harrys life events down and share with anyone who wants to read

10) If you could travel back in time, where/when would you go back to?
My moms childhood in the 50s and 60s I hear so many storys, and I would love to spend time with my nan and grandad who sadly went to heaven too soon :(

11) Who was your funniest crush as a teenager?
As a teenager I loved wayne rooney, I have no idea why, but I thought he was lovely. (Not so much now tho) as a younger teen craig david, but he's still gorgeous!

12) What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you?
Hard one really, but I can recall the time last year, me hubby and our best friends lucy and matt went to alton towers, I am the biggest wimp ever, and hate rides (only went to alton towers so gaz could ride all the big rides with matt) anyway, they somehow convinced me to go on the ride 13, telling me 'there is no big drops or anything' oh how wrong they were, and they new it, as anyone who had riden that ride full well knows, I ended up screaming 'liars' and then nearly passing out, they thought they had killed me when it had finished as I was slumped in my seat. We laugh about it now, but then it so wasn't funny. So not so much funniest thing that's happened to me but funniest thing that I've been involved in, they couldn't stop laughing.

The bloggers I'm going to tag

Well I'm going to cop out a little here (until tomorrow) I can't get to my computer as of yet, so tomorrow I shall tag all my followers separately, all 9 of you, some of you have already done this tag so just ignore it but thought that was the best way to do it. And I also tag anyone else who fancies doing this and has not yet been tagged, a good one for any new bloggers out there X

The 12 questions:-

1) how old were you when you gave birth to your child/ren?

2) Can you drive?

3) If yes to question 2 did you pass your driving test 1st time?

4) What meal could you eat again and again?

5) Favourite no alcholic drink?

6) One must have baby/child product that you couldn't live without?

7) A tv program you secretly love?

8) Favourite kids tv program?

9) One song that cheers you up?

10) Facebook or twitter?

11) A film that never fails to make you cry?

12) Harry potter or twilight?

Well that's about it I think :)
Have fun doing it and let me know so I can see your answers x x

Hiya all,

Happy Tuesday! I no i no its valentines day, but i hate it. I don't no if its my age or what but this year i just think 'whats the point'. I'm fully aware that i properly sound bitter and old, but i hate forced fun and forced emotion, its like we have to receive flowers and chocolates that cost ridiculous prices, because its valentines day, to know that were loved?

This morning my facebook feeds been full of 'look what my lovely bf/hubby/fiance had brought me' they seem to think we forget the amount of times they have changed there relationship status over the year and now everything perfect because you received 12 roses? Am i bitter because i didn't get anything you may ask, nope, we have done it all before, in the past 7 valentines days we have spent together, Ive had the works, flowers, chocolate's, jewellery, huge cards and Teddy's. But this year i demanded i didn't want a card or silly pressie (to be honest we don't have room for another teddy or huge card with Harry's stuff)

We did how ever go out shopping this morning (very difficult with a pushchair and a man on crutches i must say) and hubby brought me a pair of shoes, I'm all for the practical pressies, so what did i buy him??
Yep i brought him the cast cover, so he can bath to his hearts content.
I demanded he modelled it so i could to post it to facebook, and show everyone how romantic i am.

Harry got these biscuits from my sister (shes a baker in her spare time)

Roll on next Tuesday, now that's a real celebration, PANCAKE DAY mmm cant wait

What have you had for valentines day?

New Arival

Hiya all.

As I mentioned on Friday, I had found out that something VERY special was winging its way to me in the post.

All night I couldn't sleep tossing and turning worrying about missing the post man, let's face it no one like an 'attempted delivery' card.

I was awake at 6:30am, I watched BBC news until around 8:30 when harry woke up and we went down stairs and had breakie then I heard the lovely sound of a delivery van pulling up! This was it, he was here!!! I ran to the front door and opened it before he had chance to knock, it was our usual royal mail delivery man, he's got to know us with the millions of parcels he has to deal with addressed to me (eBay addiction) and he's also used to seeing me answer the door half naked too, when I've ran straight out of bed to collect parcels. I think he was shocked to see me fulled dressed with brushed hair for once. I signed and ran in with my box.
I was honestly feeling like a child at Christmas, inside this box was something I'd wanted and thought about for many years.

I opened up the brown box, harry sitting on my lap, I'm sure he could tell I was excited. I was taking pictures because it was all so lovely, inside the box was beautiful purple tissue paper wrapped with blue ribbons and lovely little flowers. I new what was under it but still the butterfly's in my tummy bubbled. As I opened the tissue paper I filled with emotion, my beautiful reborn baby was here.

Not just any reborn baby, but one made to look like my little man when he was small. Now I no some people will think that reborns are 'odd' or 'scary' but ever since I saw a documentary about them years ago, I new I wanted one. Me and my mom have always shared a love for dolls and Teddy's, and both of us having our own dolls houses, reborns to us were just artwork, not weird at all. I no some people choose to take them out like real baby, and each to there own I would never judge, personally I wouldn't do this myself, but whatever people feel comfortable doing is there own business.

I had been looking online for a while seeing all the different babies and artists. I then came across Happy hearts nursery, somethings just clicked, the website felt friendly and welcoming, more of a love for reborns than doing them just for 'business' the previous work was amazing, especially the portrait babies, babies made to look like a picture provided, this is exactly what I wanted, a portrait baby harry. I had to send a email. Just to ask.

I got back a lovely email from debs, she was so friendly. Not pushy at all, I then had to convince hubby. Luckily he new how much I had wanted one, and the fact it would be a keepsake of what harry was like as a baby, he said go on. Not that he liked them, he thought they were scary. But I went ahead and debs was so helpful, I provided her with as many pics of harry as I could so she could help me decided what kit to choose. I decided and the ball was a rolling. From then I've had lots of emails, lots of update pictures, she just wanted him perfect, and I couldn't be happier with the artist I choose. Ever thing I wanted him to be she advised and gave me the best :)

So here he is, my reborn baby harry.

I think he's a piece of art, he's going to be a piece that we keep forever and pass down hopefully through the generations.

My in laws have called me strange and odd for having it, but stuff them, I love it :)
Harry's not too fond of the doll, his response when we opened the box 'ohh noo' I think this was because he has the exact same blanket as him, he thought the doll had stolen his manky blanky!!
What's everyone opinions on reborns?

Well I can't thank debs at happy hearts enough, what a star, she's brilliant.
Here's a little video she put together of him being made, she truly is amazing at what she does, i wouldn't even no where to start.

(My pictures don't do a bit of justice, because my cameras not the best)

What's everyone opinions on reborns?

Friday Ramble

Hiya all,

Today Ive not been up to much due to the artic conditions, so Harry's just had a lazy day playing and reading books :)

Ive had a visit from auto glass, as i had a chip repaired last year and it seemed to have 'opened back up' well what i thought anyway, but was told 'nope that's normal in this weather' so didn't i feel silly (it wasn't Gavin from the adverts, gutted)

Ive had some brilliant news today that something VERY special is winging it way to me as we speak, but will do a separate post about that hopefully tomorrow.

Hubby is making the most of his time off from work with his broken foot, and having more of his tattoo sleeve done, will see if i can get pictures later.

Ive also been doing a bit of eBay shopping, managed to get our friends a lovely personalised engagement pressie, (we have ther party next week, arhh what to wear, but thats a whole differnt post) its a chalk board for a countdown for there big day. I do love eBay.

I thought id show you a little video that i videoed last night, its a little game that we play, i call it 'sleeps' its where harry pretends to be asleep (sometimes with fake snoring) and then he jumps up and we say 'morning' it makes me giggle, bless him. At the end he does his 'no' routine, and impression of Justin Beiber with his hair do :)

video
please ignore the very common accent i have!

Hope everyone is having lovely Fridays and you all have a fun and safe weekend

Special Eyes

Hiya all,

This post is something Ive touched upon before, but finally today i thought id address it.
My little mans, 'special eyes' 'dopey eyes' 'sleepy eyes' 'lazy eye' or what ever else they want to be addressed as.

newborn
Today we got a letter to say he has another hospital appointment later this month, great, just what i need, a day of waiting in the hospital, Harry gets irate. Me and hubby get irate because we know whats going to happen. Harry gets called in (sometimes he has to have drops in and this is even more traumatic) and they try and test his eyes. As you can imagine on a nearly 2 yr old, this is not fun at all. He screams, we find it hard to restrain him, he gets really worked up because someone he doesn't no is shining lights into his eyes, they don't get any answers and tell us to go back in another 2months. And the cycle goes on.

few months old
Since Harry's been born his eyes have had the 'dopey' look (term that's been used to us by many a trained Ophthalmologist). But we thought this was a genetic thing as his daddy has the same 'sad dropey' eyes. When the midwife came around to sign us off at about 4 weeks old she said she would like him to get checked out. We have had many appointments since, they have held cards in front of his eyes to watch where his pupils go and used lights to see if they can tell if his eyes are working, but no real definite answers. When he was around 15 months, we had a appointment with a specialist who finally told us what they were looking for and why they were so worried, because Harry's eye lids are so low, they cover his pupil, so his eyes are sending messages to his brain to 'shut down' his eyes because the pupil is getting partially covered, this could result in his not being able to use one or both eyes, they continue to try and test to see if glasses or patches (imagine trying to keep them on a 2yr old) would help to strengthen the 'special' eye, but thus far they have not been able to get a definite result, and i don't no how they are going to get one this time either, because he just wont want to cooperate with them, hes 2 after all, he cant exactly say if he can see or not and as we know our little people are awkward at the best of time, let alone in a strange situation.
The specialist said that when he hits his teen years that he will be offered a operation to tighten up his eye lids so he doesn't look so 'dopey' as they put it. When this was mentioned i bust into tears the idea of my baby having to have an operation of any sort just puts fear into me.

around 7 months old
Harry's not really found much problem with his eyes, he was late walking and we think this may be because he couldn't work out how far away things were and his vision could of been blurred. Some days his eyes look more 'dopey' than normal but other than that hes a happy chappy.

The problem i have is that ever day we go out, we will always have someone come up and say 'he looks tired' or 'has he just woken up' or 'aww hes a dopey little chap isn't he' because his eyes make him seem that way. It used to really upset me because he is not dopey at all, and 9 times out of 10 he not tired either, but everyone seems to think its fine to comment, but i understand that they don't no his problems.

The problem with eye issues, is that we need him to be able to tell us whats going on for the problem to be sorted, it hard. Until then it will just be us going round in circles. Many more hospital appointments and flash cards and lights.

age 1

Keep your fingers crossed for us that we get more answers this time.
Id love to no if anyone else out there has been through or going through the same with your child's eyes.

Dear 14 year old self . . .

 Hiya all,

Last night there was a trending topic on twitter, #dear14yearoldself
It got me thinking as to what I would say to my 14 year old self. Although I wouldn't change my past, as its given me my beautiful baby boy, there is a few things I would like to tell myself, few tips and a bit of advice I would of like to of known and some things I would like to change but only if it meant I still get the beautiful baby boy and his daddy still, So here goes.

Dear Lucy,

It all turns out OK. Don't think too much about everything, and worry about what the 'plastics' think, they all turn out looking like adverts for tango and jumping on any man that will have them. Despite what they think, they are not gods gift to men. Some people never learn. Stand up for yourself, stop being the sheep and doing what you think 'the cool kids do'
Spend more time with the 'other' Lucy, her heart is golden and you have A LOT in common. (Also tell the other Lucy that she's amazing for being in a band, ask if you can join if only to play a triangle)
Work harder at school, it will benefit you in the long run. You no when people say 'school is the best days of your life' and you just shrug and think 'what ever' BELIEVE THEM!!
Make the most of the easy days where your money worries are consisted of where's your next £5 pound phone top up coming from.
Cleanse, tone, moisturise, and look after your teeth. Get your eyebrows done, the caterpillar look is really not a good one. The slicked back croyden face lift is not the best look for your hair either, keep all that gold you wear though, will be worth a fortune in scrap value in years to come.
That boy you met on a field is a keeper, get to understand his issues more, give allowances, you will come to realise why he has mental and physical scars.
You will have a job soon, take more pictures as those days, they will give you some amazing memories, be careful down that cellar though. Get someone to video your exorcist show, as no one will believe that was you. They are good friends, but there is something more going on, make the most of them because sadly things will get awkward. Take the confidence you gain and use it wisely.
Don't pick that blue prom dress, your neck looks like a giraffes so not the best of idea to go with a halter neck.
When you go to Corfu, enjoy it, stop crying everyday for you no who and get a better tan. This will be your last holiday for a while. Make the most of these years, before the anxiety kicks in big time.
Save some money, stop buying all those pairs of trainers, it will save you a fortune.
Tell the PE teachers your not lazy, its because you have a missing heart valve that you keep getting breathless, your never gonna be an Olympic athlete. Report that teacher for dragging you around the swimming pool alone on a dog lead, trying to 'teach you to swim' its not the right way to learn, and its all very weird.
Stuff what anyone thinks about your love of history, go with it, don't choose beauty therapy, just because your 'friends' are doing it. Stay on at 6 form, do some A levels you would love it.
Never take that job at NEXT! Its just ridicules and pointless.
Have some fun, and don't try and be a adult before your time. Stop the worries over everyone else, because you will make yourself ill.

Monday Monday. . .

Hiya all,

This weekends been manic and it feels like it went in a flash,

Harry went to my sisters on Sunday and played with my niece, he loves going down there and raiding the dressing up box and playing with Evie

Today we went to the hospital to get hubby's cast changed and find out from the specialist the extent of his injury's. turns out its 2 breaks, a chip of of a bone and ligament damage. He well and truly went for it.
We spent a while at the hospital with all the different departments but hubby finally got his cast changed (to a bright red one) and he has to go back the 5th March to see how things are going with it.

We came home and got Harry and then we were off to see hubby's little brother. Jack. Hes 3 today, we brought him a table and chairs and art stuff, he loved it.
I baked some cupcakes for him
Anyways were back home now and i could sleep for a week, poor Harry's unsure of whats going on, all he knows is that daddy has new 'toys'.

Ive been looking at the cast covers for going into the bath, and then come across these things:-

I think its a brill idea, but theres no way I'm paying nearly £10 for it, so I'm going to buy some fabric from eBay and make some, by which i mean I'm going to ask my mom to make them.

I will keep you posted with the DIY cast covers
