Ive mentioned a few times before how much Harry enjoys baking with me, hes a huge fan, i however, am a rubbish baker, and always have to follow a recipe, the baking and cooking genes all went to my big sister (who makes amazing cakes!!)
So when i came across Baking mad with amazing recipes for kids, and a level from easy to hard to choose from, its perfect.
It lays out all the ingredients you need with weights and really easy step by step instructions. Perfect for me and Harry.
I decided we would make some brownies using there valentines day recipe. Gareth's a huge fan of brownies and the prep time and cooking time (which is on the website too) was 10mins and 30mins so great for 2year olds that can easily get distracted.
So with all our ingredients ready we set about baking :)
The recipes on baking mad are very easy to follow, with hints and tips, and the opportunity to tweak them yourself to your own taste.
Harry loves mixing, so mixing the butter and chocolate together was he perfect job for him.
As you can see from his mucky face, he also loves tasting the mix as he goes along!
Once the mixes were folded together as to not lose the air from the mix, it was time to put the mix in a brownie tin and pop it in the oven (mommy did this and not harry)
Then as we waited for the 25min for the brownies to cook, i cleaned up and Harry got to do his favourite bit - licking the spoon :)
When cooled we cut it up into square pieces, but you could just as easily use a heart shaped cutter, just that bit more romantic for valentines day.
When Gareth came home we served him up a slice
Icing sugar does wonders!
So there we have it, a great low cost idea for your loved ones this valentines day.
If your after some ideas, what every your loved ones tastes, be it biscuits, cupcakes or brownies, baking mad has all the Valentines day baking recipe you could ever need.
Happy baking
Lucy x
