Oh i do wish i was less superstitious, growing up in a house where new shoes were NEVER to be put on a table, umbrellas were NEVER to be opened indoors and fingernails were NEVER to be cut on a Sunday, (that's just a few) all because its bad luck, has caused me to be as superstitious as i am.
You no when you feel theres periods of time where everything just goes either right or wrong, good or bad, id say i was definitely going through one of the bad times. These grey days don't help.
Things come in threes, that's another one, things happen in 3s my dads always believed, you hear of one pregnancy, its always followed by another 2. You hear of one death, within a week you will hear of another 2. Anyway, on Saturday when i was told about our friends car just breaking down for no reason, then within the hour, my brothers on the phone, his work vans broken down too. Yep you guessed it here comes number 3, I went out to my car to go shopping, to find this!!!!
A huge nail in my tire :(
Sunday came and Gareth was struck by the dreaded sickness bug, hes been really poorly, (hes now on the mend) so hes been stuck in the bedroom, moaning because he cant go to work, he hates being still. So much so that hes demanded he goes in to work today, even though we have ALL warned him against it, he was last sick on Monday but hes still not 100%, theres no telling some people! So on the way taking him to work this morning, 1 single magpie had to fly low past my car didn't it, i looked and looked for a 2nd to no avail.
So you no what that means (if your me anyway) 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy. . .
Why do i have to be so bloody superstitious.
And to top it all off i now have a head ache and sickly feeling, Ive got everything crossed that im not going to get struck down :(
Im going to do my best to not think negative thoughts and think positive, im off to buy new pillows and bed sheets, and fumigate the bedroom of germs with good old dettol i think.
Hope all you lovelies and your little ones are ok
Love Lucy x
PS:- hope your all now singing 'very superstistious' by stevie wonder after reading this post, as i am, and it will be stuck in my head all day no doubt. . .

DeleteAw hope you get to a more brighter feeling soon Hun. I used to be very superstitious I still wave at magpies and I hate brollies being opened in the house but I took a new belief last year to help with my negative thoughts and anxiety and that's if you don't believe in bad luck you won't get it. Of course bad things happen but it's nothing to do with luck with me anymore and I feel better!xxx
